Bonding/Esthetic Recountouring
When there are only slight imperfections, bonding and esthetic recountoring can easily correct the problems. Bonding will correct any gaps and chips in the teeth, after which the edges are appropriately recountoured to fit the patients face and lips. The result is a straight, more youthful appearance.

Bridges
This procedure is an option available for filling a space that has been created by a missing tooth. Essentially, a tooth is sculpted from various materials (gold alloys, porcelain bonded metal alloys or ceramic) and utilizing the adjacent teeth for support, it is placed in the mouth. This bridge will function and look like the missing tooth, restoring the patient’s smile.

Crowns
Crowns are full coverage restorations that are used to cover a tooth that is likely to break, or is too fragile to be restored with a filling. They are most commonly performed after root canal treatment or when a large filling wears out. Crowns are fitted over the weakened tooth, providing strength and protecting the tooth against breakage. Typically, a crown procedure requires two appointments: the first visit prepares the tooth to receive the crown which is custom made from impressions; the second visit completes the procedure by permanently placing the crown in place.

Digital X-rays
Utilizing the latest technology, Dr. Becker employs the use of digital x-rays to diagnose the patient’s dental problems. Digital x-rays provide high resolution images which stored on the computer can be more easily manipulated and retrieved to provide Dr. Becker with a more complete picture. And unlike traditional x-rays, our digital x-rays 50-70% less radiation.

Fillings
Fillings are performed to replace tooth structure which has been affected by decay. We use both direct white fillings which are bonded to the tooth and indirect color matched fillings created by the lab. Dr. Becker will decide which filling is best once the extent of the problem is assessed. If caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly.

Full Mouth Reconstruction
A full mouth restoration is recommended once the normal ‘patching’ procedures are no longer feasible. Old materials are replaced with stronger, more esthetic restorations once the supporting structure of the teeth are healthy and stabilized.

Implants
In the past, the corrective action taken to replace missing teeth was the utilization of the bridge. This procedure required that the foundation for two healthy teeth were destroyed in order to replace one tooth. Subsequently, proper oral hygiene became a challenge as flossing was not possible with out the use of a special aid. The arrival of implants changed this procedure. Teeth on either side remain in tact and the new tooth is supported by the implant. Patients can care for their teeth, including routine flossing.

Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous Oxide sedation, also known as “laughing gas” is commonly used to make treatment more comfortable. This sedation is inhaled through a mask that allows you to breathe in the medication and induces a state of relaxation. Local anesthetic will be administered in conjunction with nitrous oxide to eliminate pain.

Non-Surgical & Surgical Gum Treatments
The gums, ligaments, and bone around the teeth form the foundation for ones teeth. When these structures are unhealthy, it jeopardizes the teeth themselves. Signs of gum disease may include: gums that are red and bleed easily, persistent bad breath, gums that are pulled away from the tooth, loose teeth, and changes in the position or bite of the teeth. In many cases, nonsurgical gum treatment, such as deep cleaning, root planing, and local antibiotics will correct the problem. If the gum disease is advanced, however, surgery may be required.

Orthodontics (Conventional and Invisalign)

Dr. Becker offers patients both the traditional as well as the more recent procedures for straightening and aligning the teeth. Traditionally, orthodontics utilizes braces (metal, ceramic or clear) to move teeth into their proper positing. In this method, brackets are bonded to the teeth and arch wires are threaded through the brackets. The arch wires act as a track, and guide each tooth to its proper position.

In recent years, new age technology and orthodontics have come together to create Invisalign®. Through a series of clear, custom fitted, almost indiscernible aligners, Invisalign® enables you to straighten your teeth without the use of traditional braces. Unlike traditional orthodontic appliances, Invisalign® is not made of wire or brackets and thus is a more comfortable treatment alternative. In addition, the aligners are removable, so the patient can easily care for their teeth as well as eat whatever they wish. Whether you are 15 or 50, you can have straighter, more beautiful teeth with this remarkable treatment.

Pediatric Education
Good oral hygiene is one of the most important things you can do for your teeth and gums. Healthy teeth not only enable you to look and feel good, they make it possible to eat and speak properly. Good oral health is important to your overall well being as many serious diseases begin in the mouth. Dr. Becker’s primary goal with his young patients is to teach them about daily preventative care and help them develop good habits early. Doing so will result in a healthier mouth as adults, reducing the chances of dental and other health problems.

Root Canal Treatment
A root canal is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the pulp pf the tooth. Other times deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may cause the nerve to be damaged and the pulp of the tooth to become infected. Symptoms that the pulp has become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no symptoms are apparent and the person is unaware of any problem until a checkup.

Sealants
Sealants employ the use of a coating which seals the grooves and pits in the tooth which cannot be cannot be adequately cleaned by brushing. Over time, if these areas are not properly cleaned they will develop cavities. When applied, sealants make it possible to brush off all the plaque and keep your teeth healthy.

TMJ Treatments
Temporomadibular joint or TMJ is a concern for 90% of female patients. It is often manifested as headaches involving the temple region or the back of the neck. Corrective action requires manipulation of the jaw joint to so as to align the patient’s bite. Even a slight deviation or tiny change in the joint can trigger jaw muscles into hyperactivity, primarily during the patient’s sleep cycle. Hence, many patients who suffer from TMJ will awaken with headaches. Our office will provide you with a thorough analysis of your TMJ dysfunction through the use of load testing, bite analysis, X-rays, and MRI.

Veneers
Veneers are utilized when the patient is looking for a total change in appearance. Any chips, cracks, spaces, dislocations, rotation and alignment can be corrected through the use of porcelain veneers. Impressions of your teeth are forwarded to a laboratory that will help create a custom solution to fit your smile. Any imperfections will now become invisible through the use of the veneers.

Whitening
Our professional whitening solutions give our patients better and more noticeable results than those obtained with the use of over-the-counter toothpastes and whitening strips. We provide in-office treatments which produce immediate, dramatic teeth whitening. We also offer at-home programs which requires the patient to use custom fit trays and a bleaching agent over the course of a few weeks. Though it is a more gradual process, patients will generally obtain the desired results in 2 weeks.
